Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
- 2 bananas (sliced)
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 package vanilla pudding or custard
- 1 pound cake or ladyfingers
- 1 cup strawberry jam or strawberry sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
- Cookies or wafers for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Pudding: Make vanilla pudding according to package instructions. Add a dash of vanilla extract for extra flavor. Let it cool in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the Cake: Cut the pound cake into slices or chunks. You can use ladyfingers if preferred.
- Layer the Trifle: In a large glass bowl or a trifle dish, start with a layer of cake pieces. Add a layer of sliced bananas. Spread a layer of vanilla pudding over the bananas. Add a layer of sliced strawberries. Drizzle strawberry jam or sauce over the strawberries. Add a layer of whipped cream.
- Repeat the Layers: Continue layering components in the same order: cake, bananas, pudding, strawberries, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream until you reach the top of the dish.
- Top the Trifle: Finish with a generous layer of whipped cream. Garnish with whole strawberries, banana slices, and cookies or wafers on top.
- Chill: Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together.
