Description

A delicious and visually appealing strawberry banana trifle dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 2 bananas (sliced)
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 package vanilla pudding or custard
  • 1 pound cake or ladyfingers
  • 1 cup strawberry jam or strawberry sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for added sweetness)
  • Cookies or wafers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pudding: Make vanilla pudding according to package instructions. Add a dash of vanilla extract for extra flavor. Let it cool in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the Cake: Cut the pound cake into slices or chunks. You can use ladyfingers if preferred.
  3. Layer the Trifle: In a large glass bowl or a trifle dish, start with a layer of cake pieces. Add a layer of sliced bananas. Spread a layer of vanilla pudding over the bananas. Add a layer of sliced strawberries. Drizzle strawberry jam or sauce over the strawberries. Add a layer of whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Continue layering components in the same order: cake, bananas, pudding, strawberries, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream until you reach the top of the dish.
  5. Top the Trifle: Finish with a generous layer of whipped cream. Garnish with whole strawberries, banana slices, and cookies or wafers on top.
  6. Chill: Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle some toasted nuts or coconut flakes on top.
  • Use fresh and ripe bananas to avoid browning.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding sugar to the strawberries if they are too tart.
  • This dessert can be made a day in advance to enhance the flavors further.
