Description
A delightful and refreshing cake featuring pineapple and cherry flavors, topped with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple (with juice)
- 1 jar (10 oz) Maraschino cherries, drained and halved
- 1 container (16 oz) whipped topping
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, crushed pineapple (with juice), vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed until the batter is smooth and well combined.
-
Pour the cake batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
-
Once the cake is cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the entire surface. Arrange the pineapple chunks and Maraschino cherry halves on top of the whipped topping, pressing them lightly to ensure they stick.
-
Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the topping to set.
Notes
- You can substitute the yellow cake mix with white cake mix if preferred.
- For an extra flavor dimension, consider adding 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the batter.
- Ensure that the cake is completely cooled before adding the whipped topping to prevent it from melting.
- For a more festive look, consider adding shredded coconut as a garnish.
