Description
Delicious and fluffy peach cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (can substitute with a gluten-free blend)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (brown sugar can add a deeper flavor)
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast (ensure it’s fresh)
- 1 teaspoon salt (essential for amplifying sweetness)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (can substitute with margarine or oil)
- 1 cup whole milk (almond milk works for dairy-free option)
- 2 large eggs (consider a flax egg for vegan substitute)
- 2 cups peaches (fresh or canned, toss with flour if fresh)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (nutmeg can be added for warmth)
- 8 oz cream cheese (opt for full-fat for richness)
- 2 cups powdered sugar (coconut sugar can be a healthier alternative)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, melted unsalted butter, and warm milk. Add wet ingredients to the dry mixture and stir to form dough. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Mix the diced peaches with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a medium bowl to prepare the filling.
- On a floured surface, roll the risen dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle. Spread melted butter across the surface, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture, and add peach filling, covering the dough to the edges.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal portions.
- Place the sliced rolls into a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of milk to prepare frosting. Drizzle over warm rolls once they are out of the oven.
Notes
- Ensure that the yeast is fresh to guarantee proper rising.
- You can use a vegan substitute for eggs if desired.
- For a healthier option, consider using coconut sugar instead of powdered sugar.
