- 1 pound ground beef
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Lasagna Noodles: Boil water in a large pot. Add salt and cook the lasagna noodles until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble Lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add another layer of meat sauce, then repeat the layers. Top the final layer with remaining noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
- Cool and Serve: Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

- For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine to the meat sauce as it simmers.
