A delicious and filling lasagna made with layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy cheese mixture.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil

- to taste pepper
- 1 egg
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook Noodles: Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture:
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
- Assemble Lasagna:
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Place three lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Add a layer of meat sauce, then a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, ending with noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine to the meat sauce.
- Use fresh basil leaves if available for a more vibrant taste.
- Consider using a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage for a richer flavor.
- Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps it hold its shape better.
