Description

A deliciously crispy onion bacon burger topped with melted cheddar cheese, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Onion Rings: Soak onion slices in buttermilk for 15 minutes. Remove onion rings from buttermilk, then dredge them in flour. Dip into beaten eggs and coat with panko bread crumbs.
  2. Cook the Bacon: In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.
  3. Fry the Onion Rings: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry onion rings until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Prepare the Burger Patties: Form ground beef into four equal patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry patties over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  5. Assemble the Burgers: During the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty to melt. Mix mayonnaise and mustard in a small bowl. Spread the mayo-mustard sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on the bun (optional). Top with the burger patty with melted cheese. Add crispy bacon slices and an onion ring on top. Cover with the top half of the bun.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying onion rings to achieve perfect crispiness.
  • For extra flavor, season the beef patties with garlic powder or paprika.
  • Toast the burger buns slightly for an added crunch.
  • Experiment with additional toppings like pickles or barbecue sauce for extra flavor.
