Description
A delicious stacked burger featuring crispy bacon, cheese, and golden fried onion rings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 6 slices bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 large onion rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- Lettuce leaves (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Onion Rings: Slice a large onion into thick rings. Coat each onion ring in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the onion rings until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Cook the Bacon: Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet and drain on paper towels. Crumble into small pieces.
- Prepare the Burgers: Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into patties. Season with salt and pepper. In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the beef patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.
- Assemble the Burger: Spread mayonnaise and BBQ sauce on the bottom onion ring (optional). Layer with a cheese-topped burger patty and sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Top with another onion ring.
- Repeat: Repeat the assembly for the remaining ingredients to create a stack.
Notes
- Use a good melting cheese like Swiss or Pepper Jack for a different flavor.
- Try adding sliced pickles or jalapeños for an added kick.
- Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying the onion rings to achieve a crispy texture.
- Use ground chuck for juicier burgers due to its higher fat content.
