Description

Delicious crispy bacon cheese balls, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and half of the crumbled bacon until well combined.
  2. Shape the Balls: Using your hands, form the cheese mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Coat the Cheese Balls: Roll each cheese ball in the all-purpose flour, ensuring they are fully coated. Dip the floured balls into the beaten eggs, then roll them in bread crumbs until evenly coated.
  4. Fry the Cheese Balls: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer over medium-high heat. Carefully place the coated cheese balls in the hot oil, frying them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the cheese balls with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the remaining crumbled bacon and chopped parsley over the top for garnish. Serve the cheese balls warm for the best flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is well-heated before adding the cheese balls to prevent them from absorbing too much oil.
  • For a spicier kick, add some finely chopped jalapeños to the cheese mixture.
  • These cheese balls can also be frozen before frying and cooked directly from frozen when needed.
