- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup milk (room temperature)
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream (chilled)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup strawberries (sliced)
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup raspberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Once the cake is cooled, spread the whipped cream evenly over the top.
- Arrange the strawberries in rows to form the stripes of the flag and place blueberries in the top left corner to represent the stars.
- Chill the cake for at least 30 minutes before serving.
